A modernised and unified platform

Founded in 1637, Crédit Municipal de Paris (CMP) is a historic and emblematic financial institution. Located in the 4th arrondissement of Paris, it implements its mission of supporting people in financial fragility by offering solidarity solutions, notably through pawnshops and auctions.

Issue

Until 2023, the Crédit Municipal de Paris (CMP) operated with two separate sites: one institutional, the other dedicated to services, products and auctions. This separation posed several challenges:

  • a fragmented brand image which made the offer less readable and altered the user experience
  • dispersed content management This increased the workload of internal teams.

To improve the readability of its offer and facilitate content management, the CMP has therefore embarked on a strategic redesign aimed at unifying its platforms into a single and coherent site.

Objectives

1

Centralize information and content management on a single platform.

2

Modernize branding by harmonizing visual identity while preserving its historical heritage.

3

Optimize user experience, particularly for pawnshops and auctions, using powerful tools.

Collaboration

A collaborative approach

From the outset, co-construction workshops brought together Communication, DSI and Sales Hotel teams to define communication and data management expectations, and to train internal teams in Gutenberg for a smooth management of CMS.

A graphic and technical overhaul

The visual identity of the CMP has been redesigned to ensure consistency across the entire site. The griffon symbol, the historic emblem of the institution, has been modernized to preserve the link with its heritage.

Customized developments

To meet the specific needs of the CMP, Be API has implemented several key features:

  • Management of auctions : Integration of a system for importing lots and sales.
  • Migration and SEO : Transfer content from Drupal to WordPress with optimized management of redirects to preserve the SEO and user experience.
  • Pawn loan simulator : A custom administered block, allowing regular updating of variables from the back office.
  • Alert system: Automated notifications to inform users of new sales.
  • Advanced search engine: Implementation of Elasticsearch via ElasticPress for quick and accurate searches.
  • Multilingualism: Translation of the site into 10 languages via Weglot for international accessibility.
  • Security and Compliance GDPR: Work closely with the CMP DPO to ensure robust security protocols.
  • Intuitive navigation: Implementation of a dynamic megamenu to simplify access to services.

Enhanced technical support

The CMP's DSI team benefited from dedicated monitoring, including configuration and detailed technical documentation for server management. « We focused on an intuitive and efficient back-office to simplify day-to-day management. The automation of sales imports and machine translation were also real improvements for the CMP team. » states Leonard.

We have greatly gained in efficiency and comfort in site management, thanks to a simple back-office usage, and which offers great flexibility.

Results

The launch of the new platform took place in two stages: first the merger of the institutional site and auctions, then the finalization of the tools dedicated to auctions and optimization of navigation.

Thanks to this redesign, the CMP has modernized its image and simplified its digital ecosystem. After Jeanne Mougel, « the redesign of our site was a central step in the evolution of our digital communication. In terms of graphic identity on the one hand, the progress is immense. »

The centralization of tools has transformed the daily lives of the teams, providing a more fluid working environment and better coordination of services. This transformation is part of a long-term approach, with an evolving, efficient, secure and aligned CMS with best web and SEO practices.

« Our site is now a faithful reflection of our institution: modern, accessible and aesthetically harmonious.»
