Destination Yvelines: a new website to promote the region

The Conseil départemental des Yvelines is an essential pillar of the region's development: a major player in the fields of culture, nature and sport, it embodies the very essence of the Yvelines identity.

Issues

The Culture, Tourism and Sports Department has undertaken to modernize its tourism communications by merging the www.tourisme.yvelines.fr and www.sortir-yvelines.fr websites into a single destination.

The challenges: create a new graphic identity and use the APIDAE database (SIT).

The aim: to propel the Yvelines as a leading tourist destination in the Ile-de-France region, by offering a digital platform that responds to new trends and promotes responsible tourism, in line with the department's new tourism positioning.

Collaboration

Be API took up this major technical challenge by ensuring interoperability between APIDAE - the platform enabling territories to enter and distribute their tourism data - and the new WordPress site. The result was an efficient centralization of content and a reorganization of user paths, improving the fluidity and attractiveness of navigation.

As part of this collaboration, a major Art Direction project was also undertaken. Our design team reworked the entire Look & Feel of the platform, to give it a dynamic, modern look and feel, reflecting the attractiveness of the region. We also created a new logo to reinforce the brand's identity, and supported the Conseil Départemental team in the implementation of this graphic charter. This process involved a real co-creation approach, testing and exchanges with the Conseil départemental teams.

Results

The new Destination Yvelines site has transformed the digital experience offered to visitors, offering more intuitive and engaging paths, and proposing a DA that meets the image challenges of the redesign.

This project is part of the close collaboration we've had with the Yvelines departmental council since 2012, with whom we've developed a truly comprehensive digital ecosystem.
