WordCamp Toulouse 2025: between conferences, meetings and successful pre-launch!

Back to the last French WordCamp: two days in a Toulouse theatre, to discover inspiring talks, meet or meet famous faces... And for the agency, the opportunity to present for the very first time to the public a project that has been being launched in recent months!
A part of the Be API team was on site, and comes back with many memories, valuable feedback and a good dose of momentum for the sequel.
A unique framework and an organization with small onions
This year, the WordCamp was held at the Théâtre de la Cité in the heart of Toulouse. An immersive setting, designed to welcome artistic creations, but which proved perfectly suited to a tech event. The layout of the rooms, the quality of acoustics and the scenography have helped to create the ideal atmosphere to follow the conferences.
« The place, a theatre, gave a really cool TEDx effect.» – Alex
The organization was also widely praised: from welcoming to programming, through the after party, everything was fluid, well rhythmic and designed to create a pleasant experience from beginning to end. Bravo to the team organ!
« Everything on the spot was very well thought and organized, I did not miss anything. It was really a time out. » – Tyffany
Among this team was Marie, a developer at Be API, who was living her very first WordCamp behind the scenes. Among his missions: to co-pilot the setting up of the biketypy, a live transcript of conferences.
« It was catchy, but super rewarding. Seeing all this materialize after months of preparation is really rewarding. »
Marie, from the team organ
Be API has also contributed to this collective effort, by sponsoring the biketypy device: a coherent and concrete giving back, in line with our commitment to accessibility in our daily projects.

The community: meeting again, meeting again, meeting again
For many, the WordCamp remains one of the few moments when the Francophone WordPress community finds itself. And this edition did not derogate from the rule. Informal exchanges, reunions, sometimes even meetings after years of online encounters:
« I've met people I've been exchanging with for years on the internet. These meetings are unforgettable.» – Tyffany
« It was my first WordCamp. What has changed has been the ease with which people discuss and exchange. The community is very welcoming. »
Lucie, Project Leader
And for an agency like Be API, who has been in full telework for several months, it was also a real pleasure to find colleagues.
« It's always very cool to find some people from the agency "in real". » – Yann
Various, accessible and transversal conferences
On the content side, this year the programme offered a variety of well-rhythmed conferences, covering development topics, but not just!
« There were very generalist conferences, which showed what we could do without code... A true will to open the doors to the greatest number. » – Cédric
Several talks have marked the minds, such as the one on cognitive sciences applied to web ergonomics, or the one on the AI and the creation of plugins.
« Very interesting scientific elements on ergonomics, well vulgarized. Even though it wasn't specific to WordPress, it was very inspiring for our daily life. » – Tyffany
« The AI conference showed that it is not a question of replacing humans, but of supporting them in their repetitive tasks. The tool becomes a companion of the road. » – Alex
This year, Be API was also represented on stage with two interventions:
- Stéphane Godel presented a conference entitled "The good, the brute and the bad guy in the media", on the challenges related to file management in WordPress. A very well-received intervention, which has laid the foundation for a topic that has not yet been discussed... But many encounter daily. Spoiler: You must be one of three! We share the replay as soon as it is available, to discover your profile.

- Amaury Balmer, Be API CEO, participated in a adversarial debate Face Xavier Mouton-Dubosc around a theme as wide as cleavage: the place of WordPress, between popular force and technical limits. Two visions, two styles and a languageless exchange, led by Eddy Boels. The opportunity to greet a somewhat different format, which works well to bring many problems. To be repeated!

Mediapapa: a successful launch in contact with the field
Hard to talk about WordCamp Toulouse without talking about Mediapapa, our new plugin dedicated to media management in WordPress.
The idea? Offer a simple, fun and efficient solution to optimize, sort and organize your assets... short put a little bit of order in the chaos of WordPress mediatheques.

Developed by part of the team for several months, the plugin was presented as a preview at our booth. A hot launch against demanding users: an intense and valuable exercise.
« You finish a demo, someone's already waiting behind. Returns are direct, filterless, very rewarding. » – Stéphane « People said, "That's exactly what we need for a customer!" »
A pre-launch in real-life conditions, which allowed to collect valuable feedbacks, validate the business need... and leave with a tenfold motivation for the rest.
« There is still a lot of work, but the signals are good. » – Amaury
We'll talk to you soon. 👀

What we hold back
This WordCamp, it was a new but perfectly adapted place, a fluid and inclusive organization, and a conference program that was both rich and accessible, which was able to speak to all profiles of the web. It was also an opportunity to reunite with a community as alive and welcoming as ever and to live beautiful encounters.
On the Be API side, we go back with a smile: a stand that did not despond, well-received speeches and above all, the very first returns on a product that we look forward to continuing to develop.
Anyway, a WordCamp like we like it. A big thank you to the organizing team, to all those who came to see us, and very soon!
